So far in college academic engagement has been a highlight. I have been to several SI sessions as well i have been out to eat with one of my professors. It was an amazing experience, it awesome getting to know them. You find out they are just like you and you can make common connections, and you will need to know them so that way if you ever need a recommendation letter they can help you. It is also super neat with the tips they give you to help you make your way through not only college but also life. Most importantly though, you can make a friend and everyone could always use a friend. SI is also an amazing tool to help you with your classes. I've used it for my philosophy 110 class and it has been instrumental and I recommend it to everyone.

Since this is my first blog I figured it would be best to talk about my life. My name is Mickey Fennell and I am from Charleston South Carolina. I was born in Myrtle Beach but after only a couple of years my family moved to Charleston. My family is a super close knit family, I have two younger sisters mean the world to me. My mom and dad are both amazing people who make me the person I am by encouraging me to do my best everyday. As a child I grew up playing baseball (which boy didn't) and I lived to play and watch the game. As I got older I realized baseball wasn't exactly my thing. I had to try a new sport so I could stay active, so I tried swimming and I fell in love. I swam for 5 years and I wouldn't trade them for anything. It taught me leadership and people skills but most importantly it taught me how to dedicate my self to something. Swimming also helped me discover my passion for people. Being around people helping them become better and more successful is what wakes me up in the morning. I am a super positive person, I think every day is a great day and you should do everything a 130% because everybody already does 110% so you have to step it up. Through high school the University of South Carolina was my dream school. I grew up a Gamecock fan and I plan to go out that way as well. As quick as high school passed it was an amazing time filled with memories and friends that will last a life time and as I sit here and write this blog for one of my first college classes it is almost mind boggling how fast time has gone. It seems like just the other day I was in 8th grade doing algebra 2. At USC I want to become super involved which is why I am doing residence hall government, I applied for freshman council, and I am hoping to get involved in the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. As this next chapter of my life begins I am super excited and I hope to just stay sane but I think I am ready for any obstacle that comes my way!.GO COCKS!
